Governor Pat Quinn joined Gold Star Families Friday to honor the sacrifices Illinois service members have made since the September 11th terror attacks.

The governor appeared at the "Portrait of a Soldier" exhibit in the Lincoln Presidential Museum in Springfield.

Quinn said that approaching Memorial Day, "We must never forget the contributions our service members have made around the world".

The exhibit is a series of hand-drawn portraits of more than 250 Illinois men and women who have died in service to our country since September 11th, 2001.
