Misdemeanor charges have been upgraded against a man who allegedly swore at Mayor Richard Daley.

The incident happened a month ago when Daley was leaving City Hall for the last time as mayor.

Janusz Kopycinski, 30, of 6569 W. Wellington Avenue, yelled at him and allegedly spat on people. Kopycinski ran, officers chased him and one officer was grazed by a CTA bus. That officer was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with non life-threatening injuries and Kopycinski was taken into custody.

The accused is now charged with felony aggravated battery to a police officer.

He was arrested in 2007 for battery to an officer.
