A firefighter received minor injuries while fighting a 3-alarm fire at a large home in the northwest suburbs. Everyone inside the home got out OK.

The fire broke out Monday night at a home on Brandon Road in Kildeer, which is just south of Lake Zurich. A firefighter suffered minor injuries.

Video shot by a neighbor shows multiple fire departments trying to extinguish the flames.

Those living in the house were able to escape along with their dogs.

The fire was elevated to three alarms (3-11) because of its size, the size of the home and because there were no fire hydrants around. In a 3-11 fire in the suburbs, dozens of firefighters from several agencies are called.
