On Saturday, supporters of the group Catholics United protested outside his Fox Lake office, asking that he not allow the country to default on its financial obligations.
They also delivered a letter asking him to honor all children, including his own.
This week it was reported that Walsh's ex-wife is suing him for more than $100,000 in child support. On Saturday, a district director for Walsh called it a private matter.
As for the protest, another spokesperson said the congressman respects everyone's right to have their voice heard.
