School District 300 supporters are traveling from Carpentersville to Springfield to lobby against renewing tax breaks for Sears.

Teachers, parents, staffers and students from the district left on a pair of buses for the state capitol early Monday morning.

Sears has threatened to leave Illinois if the breaks aren't renewed and they expire next year. But the group want lawmakers to know that they are against the tax break renewals, claming the breaks take money away from schools.

Earlier this month, a huge crowd turned out in the northwest suburbs to protest tax breaks to Sears.
