X-ray screening doesn't prevent lung cancer deaths, according to a new study that revealed there really is no benefit of using x-rays for lung cancer screening.

The study in the November 2 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Organization involved more than 150,000 people half who received chest x-rays and half did not.

Experts noted that the results of this large, randomized clinical trial should put an end to any lingering questions about whether x-rays are useful in finding lung cancer.
