States not helping smokers quit

But according to a report in the L.A. Times, states may not be doing all they can to help people kick the habit.

States rake in billions of dollars from tobacco taxes, tobacco industry legal settlements and dollars allocated for anti-tobacco programs.

But the CDC says in 2011 states only used 2 percent of that money for those programs

The CDC recommends 15 percent go toward helping people to quit smoking and using tobacco products.
