People in the Little Village neighborhood gathered to remember Aliyah Shell. She died Saturday. Two teenagers have been charged with her murder.
The 6-year-old's life was celebrated by community members at a service held at 31st and Lawndale. People prayed talked about gang violence and started an effort to have park space on the joint campus for the Gary and Ortiz elementary schools named in honor of Aliyah Shell.
