Metra trains delayed, canceled after pedestrian hit

The pedestrian, a 56-year-old woman, was killed near the intersection of Park Boulevard. She has not been identified, and officials say it is considered a "death investigation."

Metra officials said Train No. 33 was outbound to Elburn when the incident occurred around 1:25 p.m. Monday. It was stopped for more than an hour and then passengers were taken to Wheaton.

Due to the incident, inbound Train No. 55 was canceled; inbound Train No. 52 was delayed by about half an hour at Elburn and outbound Train No. 35 ran about 40 minutes late.

All trains are now running again.

Metra officials hope to have all trains back on schedule by the afternoon rush hour.
