April 16, 2012 (CHICAGO) --It's the end of the line for a large passenger pickup truck. General Motors says it will stop making the Chevrolet Avalanche after the 2012 model year. More than half a million of the vehicles have been sold since its introduction in 2001. The Avalanche has won major awards including Motor Trend Truck of the Year; however, sales have been falling since 2003.
