Scientists turn skin cells into heart tissue

May 23, 2012

Israeli researchers say there are still many years of testing and refining ahead. But their results mean they might eventually be able to reprogram patients' cells to repair their own damaged hearts.

The researchers say these cells grown in a laboratory dish are healthy and young, equivalent to the cells of a newborn.
