The back porch of a four-story building was fully engulfed in flames on the city's West Side Monday.

Thick, black smoke poured out of the top floor of the building in the 3200-block of West Fulton near Kedzie.

The Chicago Fire Department arrived at the scene around 5 p.m. to find the back porch of the apparently residential building burning. It appears to be residential.

One asthma patient was transported to the hospital, but fire officials say that was unrelated to the fire.
