11 Ill. Petco stores may have sold contaminated bowls

June 29, 2012 (CHICAGO)

The Illinois Emergency Management Agency is coordinating with Petco to identify and secure the bowls that may be contaminated with low levels of cobalt-60.

The agency says they pose no immediate health risk, but they are working with federal officials to prevent unnecessary exposure.

State inspectors have visited three stores and found two contaminated bowls at the Petco store at Clybourn and Armitage.
