Efforts to reduce risky sexual behavior among teens have stalled and public health officials say urgent action is now needed.

A new government report says more highs school students are using condoms compared to 20 years ago, but the report says a lot of work is still needed to protect young people from the aids virus.

Today four out of every 10 new H.I.V. infections occur in people younger than 30.

Researchers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention traced how teen sexual behavior has changed over 20 years.

They found 60 percent of sexually active high school students reported using condoms but progress has stalled.
