Residents in Chicago's Austin community were put on alert after two reported attempted abductions involving children blocks from each other.

The most recent incident happened last Wednesday in the 5100-block of West Iowa Street on the West Side. A10-year old tells police he was walking home from school when someone grabbed him by his sweatshirt. The boy yelled, and the suspect ran away.

Just two days earlier at LeClaire and Maypole, a 13-year-old boy was walking home from school when someone reportedly drove up next to him and asked him to get in the car. When he refused, the boy says the suspect grabbed him and tried to pull him into the car. However, the boy was able to get away.

The children were only able to give police vague descriptions of their attackers.
