Five people face drug charges as a result of a three-month investigation conducted by drug enforcement officers and Illinois State Police.

Authorities say they seized nearly 600 pounds of marijuana from a drug trafficking organization based out of Kane and McHenry counties.

The five suspects are allegedly responsible for transporting hundreds of pounds of marijuana from Arizona to Illinois.

Agents say they also seized three firearms from two homes in west suburban Batavia and Elburn.
