A new study now links aspirin use with reducing the risk of developing liver cancer or dying from liver disease.
The research, published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute, followed more than 300,000 men and women for 10-12 years.
Those taking aspirin were 41 percent less likely to develop liver cancer and were 45 percent less likely to die from chronic liver disease.
Experts caution that more research is needed.
Side effects from taking aspirin can include stomach bleeding and stroke.
