The comedy will be written by Nick Bakay who wrote "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" starring Kevin James.
Simpson's rep did not have any details on a title or when it will premiere.
Ben Silverman, chairman of Electus, which is producing the show, calls Simpson a "modern day Lucy with incredible comedic shops."
The announcement comes weeks after Simpson's newest Weight Watchers ad debuted announcing her second prenancy.
