Tomato juice might be good post-exercise drink

February 13, 2013

Researchers in Greece tested 15 athletes over a two-month period, looking at their vital signs before, during and after exercise.

They found that tomato juice provides vital chemicals to renew muscles and get blood levels back to normal after being stretched and strained.

Anti-oxidants in tomatoes are already known to combat cancer and heart disease. The study is published in the journal Food and Chemical Toxicology.
