WHY: Heart disease is the number one killer of women, taking the life of one in three women each year. The Go Red for Women Community Expo is a free event that will include heart-health screenings, interactive workshops on nutrition and exercise, and energetic Zumba classes.
DETAILS:
Free heart-health screenings will be offered starting at 8:30 a.m., with the last screenings beginning at 1:15 p.m. Other events throughout the morning include:
- Zumba classes at 9:45 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
- Question-and-answer session with local physicians hosted by ABC 7's Kathy Brock at 10:30 a.m.
- Spanish-language question-and-answer session with local physicians hosted by ABC 7's Michelle Gallardo at noon
- Healthy cooking demonstration at 1:30 p.m.
