The singer will drop by Barrington High School Friday morning before her concert at the United Center.
She will spend about 45 minutes at the school to recognize the students who won her national Shine Bright Like a Diamond video contest.
Rihanna's management has banned news media and photographers from documenting the event.
Barrington school officials say the singer wants the focus of the event to be on the student, not her.
