We begin in Joliet where there's a Pioneer Fest and Pancake Breakfast at Pilcher Park from 8 a.m. until noon.
There are maple-syrup making demonstrations, ice cream making and pioneer re-enactments. Adults cost $9 and kids under 12 will pay $7.
You can skate with the Easter bunny at 2pm at the Oak Lawn Ice Arena. Admission is $6, skate rentals cost $3.
Learn about Easter traditions from all over the world and recreate some of them by decorating your own eggs from 1pm until 4p at the Des Plaines History Center from 1pm until 4pm. The cost is $3 for nonmembers. Members save $1.
