FBI-involved shooting, car crash on Near West Side

March 25, 2013 (CHICAGO)

Officials say two suspects remain at large. A third was hit by a bullet in his hip and is hospitalized in critical condition.

The FBI agent reports seeing the suspects breaking into a car at Ashland Avenue and Roosevelt. When he or she tried to stop the suspects, they fled in a car, trying to run over the officer, officials said, which is when the federal agent opened fire.

Police pursued the suspects' car as it fled the scene, colliding with another vehicle about five blocks away near Paulina and Flournoy. Two people inside the second car were injured in that crash.

Rush University officials released a photo of one of the alleged suspects from a surveillance camera.
