Rescue and recovery teams have pulled a car out of a pond in Richton Park in the south suburbs.

Chopper7 HD was over the scene near Sauk Trail and Cicero on Friday afternoon.

A 59-year-old man, Anthony Bradley, was able to exit the vehicle and make it to land, according to Richton Park Police. He was already outside of the vehicle by the time police arrived on the scene, but told Richton Park police his wife and child had been in the car with him and were still missing.

Authorities conducted a search of Lake George and determined that no one else was in the water, but did not find the man's wife or children.

Bradley was transported to Christ Hospital for treatment. Police say he is in good condition.

The police chief says they do not know what caused the car to go into the pond or why the man told police his wife and child had gone missing, but they said he appeared to be disoriented when police arrived on the scene.

The case remains under investigation.
