CPD 10th annual Run to Remember draws thousands

May 3, 2014

The run, which was held near Soldier Field, raises money for the Chicago Police Department Memorial Foundation. The organization provides financial support to families with officers killed or seriously injured in the line of duty.

Many participants close to the cause have participated for all 10 years.

"It's very moving, especially when I see some of the children of the officers that have given their life, just to see how they have grown over the years," said Chicago Police Deputy Supt. Al Wysinger. "They're keeping their loved ones' memories alive."

So far the foundation has donated over $3 million to families.
