Mexican Independence Day revelers block traffic in the Loop on 4th night of celebrations

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Mexican Independence Day celebrations impacted traffic in downtown Chicago Monday night.

Car caravans blocked some of the streets in the Loop.

State Street traffic was blocked from Randolph to Lake streets for some time.

Large groups could be seen gathering outside our ABC7 State Street studio near Lake Street just before 10 p.m.

Traffic on State Street cleared by 10:30 p.m.

At last check, the city did not close access to downtown like they had during the last three nights of celebrations.

The Chicago Emergency Management & Communications did not immediately return ABC7's calls on Monday night.
