Andy Richter tweets about Hastert sex abuse allegations

CHICAGO -- New insight on the sex abuse allegations against former House Speaker Dennis Hastert is coming from an unlikely source: comedian Andy Richter.

Conan O'Brien's late night sidekick says he attended Yorkville High School when Hastert was coaching there. On Twitter he recalled the Lay-Z-Boy chair that prosecutors say Hastert used to watch boys shower.

"I went to Yorkville High School and I remember this chair," he tweeted. "Purportedly 'to keep boys from fighting.'"

Prosecutors detailed the alleged sex abuse in a sentencing memo filed late Friday night,w hich spells out accusations of sexual encounters with five children while Hastert was Yorkville's wrestling coach.

Authorities are asking a judge to send the frail and ill Hastert to prison for up to six months, then a long period of supervision as a sex offender.
