More than a dozen pit bulls have been seized from a south suburban home after police say they found them living in squalor.

Cook County Sheriff's police arrested 59-year-old James Foster. They say he kept 15 dogs in his trailer behind a junkyard in Robbins. Authorities believe he may have been raising them for fighting.

One dog died while they were being removed. The rest are at shelters where they are receiving medical attention.

Foster is charged with animal abuse and not giving them proper veterinary care.
