Joliet police and the FBI say they have broken up a major drug ring. Investigators arrested nine people. They say the suspects were selling powder and crack cocaine.

Three suspects - Barry Ware, Kevin Waddell and Gary McDonald are still at large.

In addition to federal charges, Will County State's Attorney Jim Glasgow says state law will also allow him to file a lawsuit against the suspects.

"Literally, a court would enjoin them from association and from carrying out any of these criminal activities that they've carried out in the past. And additionally, we can sue for the cost of the investigation, and finally we can ask for punitive damages," he said.

Investigators say 71-year-old Gregorio Rodriguez was the source of the drugs and is part of an international drug cartel.
