Chicago firefighters faced icy conditions while battling a fire in the Brighton Park neighborhood early Wednesday morning. One firefighter slipped on a patch of ice in front of a house fire at 37th and California. He quickly got up to keep fighting the fire.

Crews brought in buckets of rock salt to melt away the ice that formed in front of the burning home.

Flames from the fire damaged the neighboring home. But everyone in both building got out safely.

There has been no word on what sparked the fire.
