Indiana police say a Valparaiso woman who could not be awakened while sitting in traffic ended up in jail Thursday morning.Police say traffic was stopped eastbound on I-80 at the 10.8 mile marker for lane closures during the early Thursday. The closures were for the demolition of the Colorado Street Bridge and movement of heavy equipment.

After reopening the lanes just after 1 a.m., police say they found Branda Goldman, 20, of Valparaiso, unconscious behind the wheel of her 1997 Saturn in the middle lane. A trooper tried to unsuccessfully revive Goldman and called for an ambulance. While waiting for the ambulance to arrive and attempting to identify the driver the tropper says he found two small bags of suspected marijuana in Goldman's purse along with some pills.

Goldman was taken to Northlake Methodist Hospital in Gary. Police say at the hospital, she tested positive for drugs. She was taken to Lake County Jail and charged with drug possession and driving with a controlled substance.
