The basketball player is 19-year-old Charles Peden of Maywood. The alleged attack happened in December at a motel in Ottumwa.
According to court records, team members invited the 18-year- old woman and her friends to the motel. The group had reportedly been drinking.
The college president issued a statement saying 'We are deeply concerned by the charges against one of our student athletes. This is a very serious matter, which is why we began our own internal investigation in December.'
The school says an assistant coach was with some team members while they were drinking that night... That person has been dismissed.
