School band scrubs plans for trip to Olympics

CHICAGO School officials canceled the trip because of security concerns surrounding the Olympic Games.

Rich Township High School District 227 Supt. Howard Hunnigan announced the decision at Wednesday night's school board meeting.

The band was scheduled to play at China's pre-Olympics bash in June. Forty-five students and ten chaperones were planning to make the trip.
