Strep bacteria could treat pancreatic cancer

The bacteria that causes a strep throat may be used to treat pancreatic cancer.

German scientists looked at the effects of the bacteria on mice with advanced pancreatic cancer. They found when the live bacteria was injected into the tumors the cancer cells regressed and some even died. Researchers say this may happen because the live bacteria activates the body's immune system.
