Volunteers give Chicago homes a makeover

CHICAGO Thousands of volunteers from 'Rebuilding Together Metro Chicago' are hard at work in Englewood and Markham. They're repairing homes for the elderly and less fortunate.

Every year the group targets a neighborhood and reaches out to homeowners who need help.

Dorothy Jones says she filled out an application and forgot about it until she received a letter saying her house had been chosen.

"It is gorgeous and I love it. I'm thankful I was picked. I'm thankful that it's being done and it's just a blessing," said Dorothy Jones, homeowner.

Under the program this year -- more then 10,000 houses across the nation will be repaired by 200,000 volunteers.
