"The Hearty Boys" heat things up

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE:

Chicago House & Social Service Agency has announced its Annual Brunch and Fashion Show, May 4th and the premier of the "Families for Families" special event on May 3rd will be highlighted by the star of Bravo-TV's hit reality series, Project Runway's Steven Rosengard and the Food Network's Hearty Boys, Dan Smith and Steve McDonagh. Both events will be held in the Winter Garden Ballroom of the Harold Washington Library.

"The theme is "Candyland Couture," said Jeremy Hilborn, special events manager for Chicago House. "It will be a sensationally sweet and often spicy kickoff to Spring." The annual sold-out Sunday Brunch and Fashion Show will be preceded by the "Families for Families" on Saturday and both will benefit Chicago House's Family Support Program's expansion to house 20 adults and 45 dependent children.

"While children, and even some adults, cannot really sympathize with the single, formerly homeless adults who live at our other programs, The Family Support Program is tangible to them. Kids with hopes, dreams and desires just like theirs benefit from the tutoring, mentoring, after school programs summer camp, and camaraderie that come to them because of the program. You don't often think of an entire family participating in a fundraising event and that's where this will be different: Families in support of families."

The Hearty Boys of Food Network fame have prepared a fun menu for the Saturday, Families for Families event that includes Willy Wonka' Waffles, Princess Lolly's Cereal Station and The Gingerbread People's Cookie Decorating Stations. Radio Disney, in addition to their energetic show will provide an event team doing interactive activities with the youngsters that include games, dancing, hula hoops, and prize drawings and giveaways every 13 minutes. "It' will all be very high energy, loud and proud," said Hilborn.
