Cab passenger killed in I-55 crash

State police say the driver of a car was speeding when it struck the rear of a minivan taxi just before noon on the inbound I-55 near southwest suburban Willowbrook.

The taxi landed on its side. A female occupant was ejected. She was pronounced dead at the scene. A second person in the taxi had to be cut from the wreckage. he was air lifted to Good Samaritan Hospital in critical condition.

Police believe the two victims are husband and wife.

Investigators are looking into the cause of the crash.
