Shedd Aquarium becomes Chicago's premier jazz venue again with another season of Jazzin' at the Shedd. This Chicago tradition combines some of the area's best bands, the city's breathtaking skyline and an unrivaled array of aquatic animals from around the world. Add light refreshments and drinks, and you've got an unbeatable summer evening of fun.

Jazzin' happens every Thursday evening through Aug. 28 (except Aug. 14). Bands play on Shedd's north terrace and inside at the Caribbean Reef. Ticket sales begin at 5 p.m., and we stay open until 10 (Oceanarium, Wild Reef and "Lizards" special exhibit until 8 p.m.). Admission is $10 a person (free to Shedd members) at the street-level accessible entrance.

Tim Fitzgerald Quartet

North Terrace

The Tim Fitzgerald Soul/Jazz Quartet features an entertaining mix of straight-ahead jazz, funk, pop and soul music. Tim is one of Chicago's most versatile and sought-after guitarists. George Fludas is one of the nation's leading drummers, having toured with Ray Brown, Diana Krall and many others. The soulful organist Tom Vaitsas and a special guest musician round out the quartet.
