McDonalds to cut back cheese in double cheeseburgers

The fast food chain is testing changes to its popular one-dollar cheeseburger. To offset rising dairy costs, McDonald's is letting some restaurants sell the burger with one slice of cheese instead of two. Others are selling a $1 double hamburger.

And some restaurants are offering the traditional double cheeseburger, priced just above $1.

As consumers deal with the struggling economy, McDonald's is also exploring an expansion of its mid-priced menu items, which cost between a $1.30 and $2.
