Black Star Project marches at Cook County Jail

CHICAGO The Black Star Project along with community leaders dropped off a letter to administrators at the jail Monday. They want the letter distributed to dads at the jail. It gives dads permission to have someone escort their child to the first day of classes.

Organizers say it's important that children attend school.

A spokesperson for the Cook County Sheriff's Department says the letter will be distributed and that postage will be provided for those who can't afford it.
