A celebration of Mexican pride took place in Chicago Saturday at the Mexican Independence Day Parade.

It's been 198 years since Mexico gained its independence from Spain. Saturday's parade stepped off at noon on Columbus Drive. Floats, marching bands and dance groups were part of the celebration.

A nice-sized crowd also gathered from Balbo to Randolph to take in all the festivities.
