Ebert smacked at Toronto Film Festival

TORONTO Witnesses say film critic Lou Lumenick suddenly got up during the movie and shouted "don't touch me!" and a few minutes later yelled the same warning. Ebert confirms that the critic then turned around and hit him with a large binder.

The whack was so loud it echoed through the theatre and startled the audience.

Ebert had tapped the man on the shoulder several times because Lumenick kept blocking his view.

Roger is unable to speak due to medical problems. Lumenick realized who he hit but offered no apology.
