Jones agreed to pursue the ethics legislation now rather than waiting until the next scheduled legislative session in November.
The ethics bill would restrict campaign donations from people who do business with the state.

Originally, Monday's session was to involve only the state senate at the urging of senate president Emil Jones.
Governor Rod Blagojevich has since called both the senate and the house back for a special session.
