Two West Nile cases reported

Two new human cases of West Nile virus have been reported in suburban Cook County.That brings the total number of cases in the area to three.

A 66-year-old man from Mount Prospect was diagnosed on September 11, and a 42-year-old woman from Elk Grove Village was diagnosed on September 10. Both were hospitalized.

The third case was in Evanston. West Nile is spread by the bite of a mosquito.
