Welcome celebration for injured Marine

CHICAGO Corporal Sean Kaspar used a cane as he greeted well-wishers in Willowbrook. He was injured when his patrol was ambushed, and he was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade. The corporal still has shrapnel in his body, and he faces much more treatment.

"Eighty to eighty-five percent recovery, as of right now. Hopefully, things will get better, and hopefully I'll get to pass the physical fitness and combat fitness test to allow me to re-enlist in the Marine Corps and carry out my career," Sean Kaspar said.

"This is unbelievable. I mean, all these people we don't even know, who we have no ties with whatsoever, except that they want to come and help support us in our time of need. And there's no words to describe what this has done for us," wife Krista Kasper said.

The Kaspars say Sean's injury means he will be home when he becomes the father of a son next month.
