Jackson, Stroger help residents foreclosure victims

Reverend Jesse Jackson joined Cook County Board president Todd Stroger to help residents save their homes from foreclosure.The Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America offered workshops at Push headquarters on Saturday.

The group aims to link homeowners with opportunties to reset and renegotiate their housing loans at affordable rates.

Stroger and Jackson also organized a petition drive which calls for a statewide moratorium on home foreclosures.

Foreclosures in Chicago were up nearly 42 percent in the third quarter this year versus the same time last year.
