Beginning Saturday, kids in Chicago had a new soccer field for their games, but it came with some controversy. The field is located in Lincoln Park's south field.

The original plan called for the Latin School to pay the construction costs, and the school would have had first use of the field. A neighborhood group objected, saying the land is for public use.

The Chicago Park District bought the Latin School out of the project.

The district now plans to build four more soccer fields next year.
