Petroleum pipeline bursts in south suburb

An underground petroleum pipeline burst on Thursday in far south suburban Monee but it's too early to know the environmental impact.Monee fire crews were on the scene on Thursday evening trying to clean up. Oil was visible on the ground.

Fire officials told ABC7 that as many as five homes could be affected. Some of the homeowners are away for the holiday.

The environmental protection agency is investigating the cause and assessing the impact.
