Many people were who are traveling for the holidays had their plans put on hold because of the weather.
Both O'Hare and Midway were reporting delays of 30-45 minutes by about 11:30 Friday morning. At Midway, there were problems with icing, not on the runways but on the taxiways that were causing some delays.
An O'Hare spokesperson referred to the number of minors at that airport as minor. However, just from looking at the board, there are clearly a fair amount of delays.
