Carbon monoxide sends 5 to hospital

Five people were sent to the hospital after they were overcome by carbon monoxide poisoning in one of Chicago's suburbs.The incident happened early Saturday inside a home in far south suburban Manhattan.

A fire department official says a grandfather awakened and felt dizzy. When he checked on some children upstairs, he discovered they were sluggish.

Police and fire department officials arrived on the scene. Two adults and three children were transported to the hospital.

High carbon monoxide levels were detected in the home, but the cause of the leak has not yet been determined.
